The EcoForte® CE portfolio for compounding additives consist of chain extenders for PET & PLA in areas where intrinsic viscosity (IV) needs to be changed. The functional groups react with the encountered groups of PET or PLA to increase molecular weight of the polymer chains. Low concentration works as chain extension, higher concentration gives chain branching, a 3D structural network. EcoForte® CE is also used in PET/PLA recycling processes, where the polymer still contains moisture and then hydrolysis takes place. EcoForte® CE will correct this loss of properties.
