EcoForte PLA CE25 100 is a functionalized masterbatch in granular form. It has been primarily designed to act as chain extender for PLA and polymer blends containing PLA to increase molecular weight, thus increasing the viscosity and lowering MFI.

Pre-drying is not absolutely necessary. Moisture content is typically < 0,2%. Moisture sensitive materials are usually packed in sealed aluminium bags or aluminium lined boxes/bigbags. If material is dried, 2-4 hours at 55 ºC is recommended.
EcoForte PLA CE25 100 works well within the usual bandwith of polymer temperatures of PLA based materials, which is between 150 and 210 0C. Feeding is usually done through a small feeder at the main feeding point of the molding machine or extruder. Typical loading is between 0,5 and 3,5 % (m/m). Start low and increase slowly when a stronger effect is desired. Be careful not to overdose, because polymer viscosity can increase to such a high level that machinery can be blocked.
Higher feeding levels could also trigger chain branching effect, along chain extension, which is usually only desired in foaming applications.
EcoForte materials are available in various different packaging options and should be stored in a dry place and be protected f rom moisture and direct UV light. Do not stack pallets. Please contact your nearest EcoForte sales representative for more information.
Improper storage can cause degradation of the material, which could result in color changes, loss of performance and odour generation.
