In 2026, we published our first sustainability report covering 2025. This sustainability report examines our performance in the areas of the environment, society and governance. It covers topics ranging from energy and emissions to waste, circularity, employee safety and responsible procurement.

Some examples from 2025:
-
100% electricity at our Enschede site
At its Enschede site, The Compound Company has pursued a phased transition to renewable electricity through its Dutch energy supplier. As a result, the share of green electricity has increased from 25% in 2022 to 50% in 2023 and 75% in 2024, with the target of reaching 100% green electricity in 2025. This target was achieved. This procurement strategy applies to all electricity consumed at the Enschede plant, including all production lines and office facilities. At the Cologne site, approximately 49.6% of electricity was sourced from renewable sources in 2024.
-
85% of our waste recovery
The group-level recovery rate (waste routed to recovery operations as a share of total waste generated) was approximately 79,5% in 2024 within the current reporting scope. In 2025, the rate increased to approximately 85,2%.
-
Further progress in the use of recycled, bio-based and circular materials
For recycling, the most prominent example is the development of polyolefin elastomer (POE) based adhesive resins in photovoltaic modules. These POE-based formulations are expected to be compatible with polyolefin recycling streams, supporting the circularity of solar module materials. In addition, a substantial share of new product development projects involves recycled or bio-based content, and The Compound Company anticipates that upcoming European packaging legislation will further accelerate demand for recyclable solutions.
The Sustainability Report 2025 is not just about what we have achieved. It also highlights where we can improve. The report provides us with a solid starting point for better understanding our impact and define the next steps on our sustainability journey.
