“What I like at The Compound Company is that it is a dynamic company, where the lines are short. Everyone, from director to assistant operator, is very approachable. Every day we rise to the challenge in the operation to achieve the maximum result with the small teams. In doing so, we work together with the process engineer and other support departments. This way, we steer stable processes and cash in on opportunities to increase efficiency.”
Working at The Compound Company
Ronnie, Supervisor Production
Ronnie had over 30 years of experience at a very large structured company, where studies alongside his work allowed him to progress from helper to Production Coordinator. In 2017, he switched to The Compound Company, where, as Supervisor Production, he is responsible for the production department at two locations in Enschede.
Transition to a professional organisation
Ronnie says: “When I saw in The Compound Company’s vacancy what they were looking for, I thought I could offer them that. The Compound Company has come a long way in its transition from a small-scale company that mostly operated instinctively from the lee, to a professional organisation in which structures are gradually being built in every field. I saw, and still see, very good people-oriented investments, but also strategic investments. The challenge is to steer this together in the right direction, where each discipline can contribute a part. In addition, I saw that good products are made that are supplied to all kinds of industries, so there is a certain degree of risk spreading and thus some continuity is guaranteed.”
Own drive to steer things in the right direction
“The content of my work is very diverse. My day starts with making a 24-hour report and participating in a coordination meeting, with the shift manager as chairman. In this, all disciplines are at the table. Besides daily management and planning, my work varies; from talking to applicants, contributing to improvement groups, leading projects, work instructions, purchasing production resources to consulting with HR on job profiles. I like the fact that at The Compound Company, they assume your own drive to steer things in the right direction. There are a lot of freedoms, so you have to be able to handle that well.”
Enjoy when everyone is together
Ronnie is a real family man and can really enjoy when everyone is together. The same goes for working at The Compound Company: “The nice colleagues make for a family atmosphere here. This gives the feeling that you are doing it together. Everyone is important and anything is possible in consultation. For me, the joint summer barbecue, Christmas drinks and other (team) outings also contribute to this.”
