RESIN (Products & Technology) B.V., a privately held Dutch specialty thermoplastics compounder, and its sister company Yparex B.V., a leading supplier of extrudable tie-layer resins, today announced that they will continue under one company name: The Compound Company. Its headquarters are in Enschede, The Netherlands, next to the merged companies’ main production facilities, warehouses and R&D and quality laboratories.
RESIN (Products & Technology) and Yparex (acquired from DSM Engineering Plastics in 2011), were separate companies under the umbrella of the RESIN Group of Companies. Over time, the cultures have grown together into a “best of both worlds.” In recent years, RESIN and Yparex have significantly expanded their operations and service capabilities in order to serve their respective global customers more effectively and enhance their product development capabilities.
The renaming of the merged companies as The Compound Company is a formalization of their consolidation. “It clearly communicates what we stand for: developing and manufacturing thermoplastic compounds,” says Business Manager Simon Put. The brands Yparex® and EcoForte® will remain as the two portfolio brands for the group’s proprietary adhesive and performance products respectively.
Put explains: “The renaming emphasizes the function of our group production and development platform, as a basis for our proprietary products as well as the innovative customized solutions that we co-develop with some of our customers. This platform is also the basis for several flexible tolling partnerships with companies that are looking for extra production capacity. All have one thing in common: they are made with unparalleled devotion and dedication!”
Wouter van den Berg, Commercial Director of The Compound Company, adds: “Our well-known brands Yparex® and EcoForte® will of course remain the pillars of our business. Some of our customers have been working with our products for decades, so they will continue to see these familiar names on their deliveries. But with the launch of this new name for our group of companies, we can bring the value of our solutions even more clearly to their attention.”
