At the Compound Company we develop and produce polymer compounds for building and construction applications. Our portfolio consists of Yparex extrudable adhesive resins for multi-layer pipes, wall claddings, cables, roofing and installation applications and EcoForte reinforced compounds that provide sustainable flame-retardant solutions in roofing and wall cladding.

Yparex adhesive resins are extrudable maleic anhydride modified polyolefin compounds. Yparex provides adhesion between polyolefins and a variety of polymeric substrates such as polyamide (PA) and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH). In building and construction applications, it is quite often desirable to be able to bond to metal. Yparex provides reliable and high-quality bond strength over prolonged time and under varying temperature conditions to metal substrates such as aluminium, steel and copper.

Multi-layer pipes for building and construction applications

Multi-layer structures are composed of several layers of different materials bonded together. In particular, multilayer composite pipes typically feature either three or five layers, depending on their intended application. As an adhesive layer Yparex provides benefits like high mechanical performance, excellent thermocycle-resistance, long-term stability (ISO 2578) and compliance with DVGW W542.

Roofing & wall cladding

Strong, flame-retardant and sustainable, our EcoForte compounds are increasingly used in injection-moulded or extruded structural parts for roofing and wall cladding. The EcoForte compounds deliver good mechanical properties and smooth processing – and it’s versatile. Depending on your unique needs, we can reinforce EcoForte with glass, minerals and natural fibres, like wood and hemp. For a lower carbon footprint, we can include recycled content or biopolymers as base polymers.

For roofing applications where flame retardancy is especially important, EcoForte FR – a special halogen-free flame-retardant compound (based on polyolefin) can be used. It can replace less sustainable materials like PVC or bitumen and is ideal as both a flame retardant for artificial thatch and as a TPO (thermoplastic polyolefins) based compound for roof liners.

Wire & Cable

Extra high-voltage cables for overland grid connections need to operate reliably, long-term – and often in the toughest of conditions. Our Yparex adhesive and polymer resins deliver the dependable adhesion and protection that you need – both inside and out.

Wood Plastic Composites (WPC)

Due to the excellent rheological properties, Yparex PO 1020 blends seamlessly with other WPC components in polypropylene-based wood plastic composites. For polyethylene-based wood plastic composites the Yparex PE 1040 and Yparex 11308 perform equally well. Yparex can be used directly in granulate form, eliminating the need for costly powdering.

Photovoltaic modules (PV)

We also provide a portfolio of solar encapsulant films for photovoltaic (PV) modules. These specialized films, made from polyolefin elastomer (POE), are highly effective at enhancing the performance and durability of PV cells.
