Solar PV Systems

The Compound Company supplies encapsulant films for photovoltaic (PV) modules. These encapsulant films are based on polyolefin elastomer (POE) rather than the standard ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). It means that in addition to delivering outstanding adhesion, stability, moisture protection and performance in various rooftop and façade applications, our compound film is also classed as non-hazardous. Drawbacks of traditionally used EVA films such as bubble forming, corrosion of solar cells and discolorations can be overcome by using these special POE based films.

Yparex POE based encapsulant films
Solar PV modules need excellent optical properties – but above all they must have the mechanical and electrical performance needed to withstand what nature throws at them for 25 years-plus. Our Yparex POE portfolio for crosslinking encapsulant films enables all this and more by increasing the performance and durability of photovoltaic modules. This solution gives you outstanding protection against weathering, corrosion, shrinkage during lamination – and moisture. Yparex POE based encapsulants can be supplied as transparent films, but also as coloured films (e.g. black and terracotta).

Yparex TPO encapsulant
The Yparex portfolio also includes thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) encapsulants. When used in combination with sensitive solar cells, it offers several advantages. For instance, lamination at lower temperatures and a shorter lamination cycle are possible.

Compounds for mounting systems and rack support of solar PV systems
In addition to films used as encapsulant for solar cells in solar PV modules, we also produce high strength compounds for mounting systems and rack support of solar PV systems, both for flat and elevated roofs. Our range includes mineral filled and glass fibre reinforced EcoForte grades with high UV resistance. These materials offer a strong and durable solution with long-term stability, designed for use in demanding outdoor applications, where reliability is essential.
