Tape Extrusion

Tape extrusion is a process used to produce thin, flexible plastic films or tapes. In this method, thermoplastic materials are melted and forced through a specially designed die to create a continuous, flat sheet of material. The thickness of the tape is controlled by adjusting the die and cooling system. After extrusion, the tape is passed through cooling rollers to solidify the material, ensuring it maintains its desired thickness and properties. Once cooled, the tape can be wound into rolls or cut into specific lengths, depending on the intended application. To optimize this process to specific applications, various compounds can be incorporated.
